Inspiring Canadians to take responsibility for their financial
The LiveUp2 Bursary Program
The loss of a parent or guardian is one of life’s most difficult experiences. The emotional pain can be devastating to children and young adults. Unfortunately, for far too many families, a premature death, not only creates emotional hardship, but also brings financial stress, making recovery all the more difficult. A post-secondary education is already a major financial challenge for most Canadian families, but it becomes significantly more difficult for a student when a parent dies, who had the misfortune of having little to no life insurance coverage. Life insurance is an important financial safety net that parents can leave their families. Unfortunately only two thirds of Canadians have life insurance, and most with coverage that is far less than their needs. LiveUp2 acknowledges the misfortune of those young people who have suffered a loss of a parent or legal guardian who left little or no life insurance. Our Bursary Program provides financial support to these local youth so that they have the opportunity to LiveUp2 their parents’ dreams of their receiving a post-secondary education.
The 2017 bursary application deadline has passed. If you are interested in applying to the 2018 program, please visit our site next February to apply using the online application. We will again accept online application for the bursary program starting February 1st, 2018.
